Study Visit 2015

The study visit 2015 took place from June 25th - July, 5th 2015

Travel guides: Adrian Künsch-Wälchli and Marlyse Walti, together with Vahan Julhakyan of Spitak YMCA

This year’s trip was a very special one since five participants had enrolled and were willing to risk the „Armenia“ adventure. They should not be disappointed, on the contrary! Our little „family“ – all of the participants quickly felt as such – experienced an unforgettable and light-hearted time in good spirit, during which the unknown country in the South Caucasus would be discovered.

As in previous years, everybody was impressed and enthusiastic about the fascinating and varied landscapes, the cultural treasures and above all about the Armenians who always welcome us with so much love and warmth and who deserve our sympathy, particularly during this year of the 100th anniversary of the genocide. Again we had the pleasure of being accompanied by a young volonteer of YMCA Spitak, Vahan Julhakyan,  who wonderfully fit in our group and enjoyed the journey across his home country together with the Schweizarazineri, knowing that soon he would have to face military service.

We completed our trip with a special highlight, the visit of Georgia’s capital Tbilisi, where we admired the gorgeous wooden houses in the old town and where we were spoiled with culinary delicacies. Tbilisi, a city full of contrasts, where in the true sense the Orient holds out its hand to the Occident.
